【現地レポート】岩佐歩夢選手、試練の富士3連戦を戦い抜く。次戦はSF初優勝の地・SUGOへ

7月17日〜19日、富士スピードウェイにて「2026年 全日本スーパーフォーミュラ選手権 第3戦・第6戦・第7戦（第3回 瑶子女王杯）」が開催されました。

今大会は、悪天候により決勝レースが中止となったオートポリス大会の第3戦代替レースを含む特別な3レースフォーマットで実施。7月17日にフリー走行、18日午前に第6戦・第7戦の予選、同日午後に第6戦決勝、19日午前に第3戦決勝、そして午後に第7戦決勝が行われる過密スケジュールとなりました。

From July 17 to 19, Fuji Speedway hosted Rounds 3, 6, and 7 of the 2026 All-Japan Super Formula Championship (the 3rd Princess Yohko Cup).

This unique event featured a special three-race format, including the rescheduled Round 3 race originally scheduled at Autopolis but canceled due to severe weather. The packed weekend schedule consisted of practice sessions on July 17, qualifying for Rounds 6 and 7 on the morning of July 18, the Round 6 race in the afternoon, the Round 3 race on the morning of July 19, and the Round 7 race on Sunday afternoon.

Ayumu Iwasa of TEAM MUGEN AUTOBACS, supported by JALOX as his personal sponsor, entered the weekend facing performance challenges that had persisted since the official Fuji test. Nevertheless, he demonstrated his trademark race pace and determination, collecting valuable championship points throughout a difficult weekend.

今回の舞台となった富士スピードウェイについて、岩佐選手は次のように語っていました。

「重要ポイントはセクター3です。富士は直線が長いため、他のサーキットと比べてエアロ（空力）、直線抵抗を減らしたマシンセットアップで走ります。そうなると、コーナーが多い区間では、空力が少ない分タイヤがグリップしなかったり滑りやすかったりする状態で速く走らせる必要があります。ドライビングはもちろん、マシンセットアップも難しい中、タイムを稼ぐ上でセクター3が重要だと考えています。」

実際に今大会でも、各チームがマシンセットアップに頭を悩ませる難しいコンディションが続きました。

【Series Feature Part 4: Ayumu Iwasa Talks About Fuji Speedway】

As part of our ongoing series, JALOX continues to bring you circuit insights directly from Ayumu Iwasa.

Speaking about Fuji Speedway, Iwasa highlighted the importance of the final sector:

“The key area is Sector 3. Because Fuji has such a long straight, teams run lower downforce and reduced drag compared to many other circuits. That means in the more technical sections, where there are several corners, drivers must find lap time even though the car has less aerodynamic grip and the tires tend to slide more easily. Both driving and car setup become very challenging, which is why I believe Sector 3 is so important.”

Throughout the weekend, teams faced exactly these challenges as changing conditions and setup compromises made finding performance particularly difficult.

【第6戦】

予選：22位

第6戦予選はウェットコンディションで行われました。

しかし、フルウェットというほど雨量は多くなく、路面の一部は乾き始める難しい状況。ウェットとドライの中間とも言えるイレギュラーなコンディションの中、岩佐選手は思うようにパフォーマンスを発揮できず、22番手からのスタートとなりました。

チームにとっても課題の残るセッションとなり、原因究明と改善に向けた取り組みが続けられることとなりました。

決勝：10位

決勝では岩佐選手が真価を発揮します。

難しい路面コンディションの中、冷静なレース運びと積極的なオーバーテイクで着実に順位を上げていくと、22番手スタートから12台抜きを達成。

10位でチェッカーフラッグを受け、貴重な1ポイントを獲得しました。

結果以上に内容の濃いレースとなり、高いレースペースとレースでの強さを改めて印象付ける一戦となりました。

【Round 6】

Qualifying: P22

Round 6 qualifying took place in wet conditions.

However, rainfall was not heavy enough to create a full wet session, resulting in a tricky surface that was beginning to dry in certain areas. In these mixed and unpredictable conditions, Iwasa was unable to extract the performance he was looking for and qualified 22nd on the grid.

The session exposed several issues for the team, prompting further analysis and efforts to improve performance.

Race: P10

In the race, Iwasa showcased his true strengths.

Remaining composed in difficult conditions, he steadily worked his way through the field with a series of decisive overtaking moves.

Starting from 22nd, he gained 12 positions and crossed the finish line in 10th place, securing a valuable championship point.

Beyond the result itself, the race once again highlighted his strong racecraft and competitive race pace.

【第3戦（オートポリス代替レース）】

決勝：リタイア

日曜日午前に行われた第3戦は、4月にオートポリスで実施された予選結果を基にグリッドが決定されました。

岩佐選手は、オートポリス大会で獲得したポールポジションからスタート。

絶好のポジションからレースを迎えましたが、スタート直後にアンチストールが作動し、大きく順位を落とすこととなります。

さらに、第1コーナー進入時に後続車との接触が発生。マシンにダメージを負い、無念のリタイアとなりました。

上位進出、そして優勝争いも期待されていただけに、悔しさの残るレースとなりました。

【Round 3 (Autopolis Replacement Race)】

Race: DNF

Sunday morning's Round 3 was contested using the qualifying results from the Autopolis event held in April.

Iwasa started from pole position after securing the fastest qualifying time at Autopolis.

Unfortunately, an anti-stall issue immediately after the start caused him to lose several positions.

Then, contact with another car at Turn 1 resulted in significant damage, forcing him into retirement

With a podium finish and even victory well within reach, the result was a particularly frustrating one for both driver and team.

【第7戦】

予選：6位

第7戦予選はドライコンディションで行われました。

岩佐選手は富士公式テストから続くパフォーマンス不足の課題を抱えながらも、セットアップ変更を実施。改善の兆しを見せながらQ2進出を果たし、6番手グリッドを獲得しました。

完全な解決には至らなかったものの、前向きな手応えを得る予選となりました。

決勝：5位

決勝前には他車のオイル漏れによるコース清掃のため、スタート時刻が遅延。

当初予定されていたスタンディングスタートではなく、セーフティカー先導によるローリングスタートへ変更されました。

スタートで順位を上げるチャンスが失われる形となりましたが、岩佐選手は厳しい状況の中でも粘り強く戦い続けます。

現状のパフォーマンスを最大限に引き出しながらレースをまとめ上げ、5位でフィニッシュ。貴重なポイントを持ち帰る結果となりました。

【Round 7】

Qualifying: P6

Round 7 qualifying was held in dry conditions.

Despite continuing to struggle with the performance issues that had surfaced during the official Fuji test, Iwasa and the team implemented setup changes that showed encouraging signs of improvement.

Advancing to Q2, he secured sixth place on the starting grid.

While the underlying issues were not completely resolved, the session provided a positive step forward.

Race: P5

Before the race, an oil spill from another car required extensive track cleaning, delaying the start.

As a result, the planned standing start was replaced with a rolling start behind the Safety Car.

Although this reduced opportunities to gain positions at the start, Iwasa remained focused and delivered a strong performance under difficult circumstances.

Maximizing the available performance package, he brought the car home in fifth place and added another valuable haul of championship points.

【総括】

夏の富士大会は、岩佐選手にとって決して簡単な週末ではありませんでした。

第6戦ではウェットとドライが入り混じる難しいコンディションに苦しみ、第7戦でも富士公式テストから続く課題を抱えながらの戦いとなりました。また、第3戦ではオートポリスで獲得したポールポジションからスタートしながらも、不運なアクシデントによりリタイアを喫しました。

しかし、そのような状況の中でも、第6戦では22番手から10位まで追い上げる12台抜きを披露し、第7戦では5位入賞を果たすなど、苦しい状況の中でも岩佐選手らしい粘り強い走りが随所に見られた週末でもありました。

また、TEAM MUGEN AUTOBACSとしては、野尻智紀選手が第3戦で今季初表彰台となる2位フィニッシュを記録。さらに第7戦では今季初ポールポジションを獲得するなど、チームとしても存在感を示しました。

思うような結果ばかりではなかった一方で、チャンピオンシップ争いに向けて貴重なポイントを積み重ねることができた富士大会。得られた収穫と課題を次戦へとつなげていきます。

【Weekend Summary】

The summer event at Fuji was far from an easy weekend for Ayumu Iwasa.

Round 6 presented difficult mixed conditions, while Round 7 continued to expose performance limitations that had first appeared during the official Fuji test. In Round 3, despite starting from pole position earned at Autopolis, an unfortunate sequence of events ended in retirement.

Yet even in adversity, Iwasa demonstrated the resilience that has become his trademark. His remarkable charge from 22nd to 10th in Round 6 and his fifth-place finish in Round 7 highlighted both his determination and racecraft.

TEAM MUGEN AUTOBACS also demonstrated its competitiveness throughout the weekend. Tomoki Nojiri secured his first podium finish of the season with second place in Round 3, while also claiming his first pole position of the year in Round 7 qualifying.

While not every result went according to plan, the team succeeded in collecting valuable championship points and gaining important lessons for the remainder of the season.

【次戦はSF初優勝の地・スポーツランドSUGO】

次戦の舞台はスポーツランドSUGO。

岩佐選手にとって、スーパーフォーミュラ初優勝を飾った思い出深いサーキットです。
