SF第5戦 九州大会 オートポリス 決勝レース2位 TEAM MUGEN 野尻智紀 選手

SF第5戦 九州大会 オートポリス（大分県日田市）は5月17日（土）、18日（日）に開催されました。17日（土）は悪天候の影響で激しい雨と濃霧に見舞われ、同日フリー走行と予選が予定されていましたが天候が回復せず全てのスケジュールがキャンセルとなりました。翌18日（日）の天候は曇り路面はドライ、視界は良好まではいかないもののAM9:40から40分間全車がそれぞれのタイミングを見計らってタイムを出す形式での予選が行われました。天候や路面、トラフィック等の状況に大きく左右されながらも見事、TEAM MUGEN#16 野尻智紀選手が1'26.757でポールポジションを獲得。同じく#15岩佐歩夢選手は予選アタック中、最終コーナー他車スピンの影響でイエローフラッグが振られ計測が中断、最終1'27.204で予選7位という予選結果となりました。

Round 5 of Super Formula, Kyushu Round at Autopolis (Hita City, Oita Prefecture), was held on May 17 (Sat) and 18 (Sun).

On the 17th (Saturday), the circuit was hit by heavy rain and thick fog due to bad weather. Although free practice and qualifying were scheduled for that day, all sessions were cancelled as the weather failed to improve.

The following day, on the 18th (Sunday), the weather was cloudy, the track was dry, and while visibility wasn’t perfect, a 40-minute qualifying session began at 9:40 AM. Each car set their lap times at their own timing. Despite challenging conditions including track status, traffic, and weather, TEAM MUGEN’s No.16 Tomoki Nojiri clinched pole position with a time of 1'26.757.

Meanwhile, No.15 Ayumu Iwasa, also from TEAM MUGEN, encountered a yellow flag due to another car spinning at the final corner during his qualifying attack, which forced him to abort the lap. His final time was 1'27.204, placing him in 7th for the qualifying.

チームやドライバーにとっていつもと違う変則的で慌ただしいスケジュールの中、PM14:46約15分遅れで決勝が行われました。ポールポジションからスタートしたTEAM MUGEN#16野尻智紀選手は安定したスタートで他車を押さえながら第1コーナーへ進入し素晴らしいスタートを切ることに成功。更に衝撃的なスタートを見せたのが同じくTEAM MUGENの#15岩佐歩夢選手。素晴らしいスタートダッシュで第1コーナー立ち上がり時には既に3位までポジションを上げ、第2コーナー進入時には同じく5位から好スタートを見せたVANTELIN TEAM TOM’Sの#1坪井翔選手と2位争いを展開する等、レース開始1周目にも関わらず他車も含め大きくポジションが動く展開となりました。

Despite the irregular and hectic schedule, the final race was held at 14:46 PM, delayed by about 15 minutes.

Starting from pole position, TEAM MUGEN’s No.16 Tomoki Nojiri made a solid getaway, defending his lead as he entered the first corner.

A particularly stunning start was made by TEAM MUGEN’s No.15 Ayumu Iwasa, who rocketed off the line and had already climbed to 3rd position by the exit of Turn 1.

At Turn 2, he was engaged in a fierce battle for 2nd place with No.1 Sho Tsuboi from VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S, who also made a strong start from 5th on the grid. Even within the opening lap, the race saw dramatic position changes among several drivers.

レースが動いたのは15周目、#15岩佐歩夢選手は順調に3位を走行し、アンダーカットを狙って早めのタイヤ交換の為にピットイン。左リアタイヤの交換に若干手間取ったものの11位でコースへ復帰し、上位勢のピットインを待つ戦略を取りました。19周目、1位を独走のTEAM MUGEN#16野尻智紀選手と2位チームバンテリン#1坪井翔選手が同時にピットイン。

その間に#15岩佐歩夢選手はアンダーカット戦略が成功し、実質1位へ。

話は戻り、野尻選手と坪井選手のタイヤ交換バトルは両チームとしてピット作業ひとつで順位が入れ替わる恐れのある緊張するタイヤ交換。TEAM MUGENは上手くタイヤ交換を行い#16野尻智紀選手を2位のまま送り出しましたが、コース復帰後タイヤが温まらず、坪井翔選手に第2コーナーで抜かれて実質3位へ、その後、21周目（全41周もしくは75分）にはセーフティカー導入中に全車タイヤ交換を終え、セーフティーカーが下がった25周目（レース再開時）にはTEAM MUGEN#15岩佐歩夢選手が1位、VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S坪井翔選手が2位、TEAM MUGEN#16野尻智紀選手が3位という順位のまま後半に突入しました。

アンダーカット戦略で1位に躍り出るTEAM MUGEN No.15 岩佐歩夢選手

The race took a dramatic turn on Lap 15. TEAM MUGEN's No.15 Ayumu Iwasa, who had been running steadily in 3rd place, pitted early aiming for an undercut strategy.

Although there was a slight delay during the left rear tire change, he rejoined the track in 11th place and adopted a strategy of waiting for the front runners to pit.

On Lap 19, both race leader No.16 Tomoki Nojiri of TEAM MUGEN and 2nd place No.1 Sho Tsuboi of VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S pitted at the same time. During that window, Iwasa’s undercut strategy paid off, effectively moving him into the lead. Returning to the pit stop battle between Nojiri and Tsuboi, it was a tense moment as either team could gain or lose a position depending on the precision of their tire change.

TEAM MUGEN executed a clean stop, allowing No.16 Tomoki Nojiri to leave the pits still in 2nd. However, as his tires had not yet warmed up, Tsuboi overtook him at Turn 2, pushing Nojiri to an effective 3rd position.

By Lap 21 (out of 41 laps or 75 minutes), all cars had completed their tire changes under the safety car period. When racing resumed on Lap 25, the order going into the second half of the race was:1st - TEAM MUGEN No.15 Ayumu Iwasa2nd - VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S No.1 Sho Tsuboi3rd - TEAM MUGEN No.16 Tomoki Nojiri

しかしながら27周目。#15岩佐歩夢選手の右フロントタイヤのナットが完全に外れタイヤが外れかけるアクシデントに見舞われここで無念のスローダウン、そのままDNF（リタイヤ）となってしまいました。原因は未だ不明ではあるものの、岩佐選手にとってもチームにとっても悔しい結果となりました。

However, on Lap 27, disaster struck. No.15 Ayumu Iwasa suffered a critical issue when the right front wheel nut completely detached, causing the tire to loosen. Iwasa was forced to slow down and, unfortunately, retire from the race (DNF). The cause remains unclear, but it was a bitter result for both Iwasa and his team.

レースはその後、順位は入れ替わらないまま#16野尻智紀選手が安定した盤石な走りで見事2位となりました。経験もテクニックも全て兼ね備え王者といえる野尻智紀選手もまた今年はここまで様々な面において思い通りにならない展開で非常に悔しい思いをされていただけにTEAM MUGENを応援する弊社にとってとても嬉しい結果となりました。

After that, the race saw no further position changes at the front.

No.16 Tomoki Nojiri delivered a composed and commanding performance to secure a well-earned 2nd place. Given that Nojiri, a true champion with both experience and skill, had faced a season so far filled with frustration and setbacks, this result brought great moment to our company, which proudly supports TEAM MUGEN.
